Mighty oaks from little acorns grow……

After nearly a year in the planning, Jubilee Wood is under way!

Huge thanks to The Woodland Trust and the MOREwoods scheme without which we couldn’t have started this project.

But, more importantly, an even bigger thanks must go to everyone who helped us with the planning and planting without who, we wouldn’t have finished!

On a dingy Saturday at the end of November more than 30 friends and family turned up along with four legged friends and family and spades to help us plant nearly 2000 trees that will become Jubilee Wood

We won’t see it in its full glory in our life time, well - probably not without extra strength glasses and a mobility scooter BUT as one of our younger volunteers Elsie said “don’t worry, in 40 years I’ll be 49, Ralph will be 46 and Freddie will be 42 so we’ll come and check on it for you”.

Bless her! And thats what its all about.

So, thank you to:

John Pennington; Sarah & Phil Stratton; Josie, Joel and Adam Wall; Philip Stigwood; Laughing Jonny; Ashley Rumbold and Mark Bullymore; Nigel, Zoe and Jean Parslow; Jacquie & Peter Rust; Ray and Claire Lambert; Roger and Jean Beeching; Eildh, Elsie and Ralph Jeavons; Rhi and Freddie Parslow-Stapleton; Kate, Nathan, Harry and Alex Holland; Jodie and Clara Williams; Alyxandra and Francesca Wilson; Rory Wilson and Josh Hume along with the 1st Thaxted Carver Scouts; our fabulous catering department: Alexis Didier-Serre and Wendy Benton

And last but not least: Tug and Sprout Wilson; Brook and Patch Bowman; Coby Williams and special guest Scoobie!
