New Members of the Family

I don’t know about you but in our family we have always been a bit of a soft touch when it comes to animals….

As a small child, much to Dad’s horror, we acquired 2 hamsters, Hartley and Henrietta - we were only supposed to get one but Henrietta only had 3 legs and no one else wanted her so we got her too.

Later on we had a 3 legged cow called Ermintrude; baby deer orphaned when its Mum got knocked over, a blind sheep called Number 42 (we weren’t supposed to name them in case we got too attached!!) along with many, many orphan lambs bottle fed by the Rayburn

Nowadays, we are building our family with chickens (ex-battery hens adopted from the British Hen Welfare Trust), donkeys, dogs and hopefully next Spring some sheep
